Stompin' Tom Connors, who clearly was influenced by Snow in a big way, related an anecdote about his inauspicious first meeting with his idol that relected pretty badly on Snow, in Connors's autobiography Before the Fame. According to Connors, they met a few more times over the years, and it didn't get much better.

Snow apparently had a pretty rough childhood (as did Connors). He set up some sort of a charity for abused kids in his later years.
