Thread Name: Hootenanny Hoot The Film
Subject: "Hootenanny Hoot "The Film
This may sound a bit silly and I apologize if anyone things this is a waste of time. Some time around 1963, ( was only 9 years old at the time) there was this movie called "Hootenanny Hoot" I guess it was an attempt to exploit the so called "college folk craze" at the time. By recollection "The Rooftop Singers" "The Kingston Trio" and "The Brothers Four" all had AM hits so its understandable a Hollywood attempt to cash in on the success is plausible.
I am going to assume the film is not worth the cellulite its printed on but I have seen some youtube clippings of "The Brothers Four " Joe and Eddy (theres a meeting here tonight" and the remarkable Judy Henske doing her famous "Wade in the Water" I saw a clip of Johnny Cash with straight black hair playing a Gibson 12 string singing "Frankie and Johnny" These clips got my curiosity and I would like to see the film.
Has anyone here had and would know if there is a DVD version? Thanks to all.
