I caught a few minutes of a tv docu. on the Carpenters. Les Paul/Mary Ford cited as one of Richard C's influences in his arranging and an old clip was shown of Les & Mary both playing guiars with
swan's-neck type vocal mikes coming direcly out of the guitars. One of Les's inventione that didn't catch on, I suspect. OK while seated but cumbersome if moving around, I guess!
