Thread Name: 5th Annual Northern California Folk Camp Out
Subject: RE: 9th Annual Northern California Folk Camp Out

Here is the new web site for the camp=
ground which is named after the local
tribe. The Concow tribe is in the Maidu
family, related to the Yana and Yahi
which were peaceful inhabitants of
the Northern California area. Ishi,
known as the "last wild indian"
was from near here, and there are
grinding rocks where the first
people used to grind acorns to eat.
We camp on the shores of a reservoir
which was formed in 1926 by the Wilenor
Dam.

Most participants of our campout are
from the local folk music society,
but we have had people from Sacramento
(hello--Joe--might you join us this time??)
Santa Rosa--MichaelR--
and other places....always room for more!!
