Some people live just to get in arguments with other people and see if they can "win", Stilly. That propensity has driven otherwise trivial threads into hundreds or even thousands of essentially vain and empty posts. To be tempted into posting on such threads is akin to entering the door of a casino...you can play all you want, but the chances of gaining anything profitable from it are extremely slim.

At least in the case of the casino, though, somebody wins. The house wins. ;-)

In the case of those threads I was alluding to you can't even say that. They're more like WWI. Lots of sound and fury. Lots of dirt and mud. Nobody really wins anything.

What I would suggest is, if someone wants to damn Susan Boyle with faint praise....just ignore it. It doesn't matter anyway, and you won't change their opinion one iota by fighting with them about it.

Nor will Susan Boyle ever know or care what anyone here said about her, in all probability.
