Well, my old man transplanted a tree from the hedge years ago into the middle of the back yard. Obviously a fruit tree. Next spring and summer and fall, it was a black sprig. Looked rotten. He refused to take it out. The following spring, it refused to give up.

Today, that rotten sprig is 25 feet tall and just as wide and covered in snow white apple blossums. And it houses the Hummingbirds that Mum adores.

I dunno much about trees, but I know a bit about love and hope. If it really didn't survive, that's okay, but I would plant Maeve's tree next to it. I wouldn't take it down, that's up to someone else.
