Laying aside my (to put it mildly) non-Conservatism for a moment, I think we have to get the charge sheet right here. We can safely leave the charge of befriending the horrible gangster on the indictment, but we shall have to dismiss the charge of any involvement in the murder of Victor Jara. It happened in autumn of 1973, when the Right Honourable Margeret Thatcher was still a minister in Edward Heath's cabinet. She certainly wanted Pinochet to get away with it though.
