"And isn't it ironic that a request lyric thread drops out after 9 over two weeks and this gets over 70 in two days!! " But did the requested lyric turn up? Probably yes, in my experience.

Nostalgic rabbiting, well that can go on for ever, but an adequately answered request tends to wind itself down naturally. It's when the song doesn't turn up quickly that we get the long lyric request threads - stretching over several years sometimes, and coming back from the dead every now and again till bingo, here come that song at last.

Back up there I mentioned TV critics - the English ones are always saying the English shows are rubbish, and the American ones are great. Does it work the other way in the States?

The only American sit-coms that have ever really got through to me were the early seasons of Roseanne and Frasier. They are the only ones I'd specifically look out for.

But one programme noone's mentioned which I remember with affection (for the music as much as anything) was "The Irish RM".
