Damariscotta. That is a good one.

And the trip up to Wiscasset might be good. Not to go to the town. That is pure tourist trap. But just before you get there you go past an old fort that has been restored.

If you get far enough down east try for Bucksport. Once more the town isn't much but you go past Fort Knox.
