That's brilliant folks. Many many thanks for your contributions.

I am getting well educated about where to find some smashing material - especially all that brilliant stuff by Stanley Holloway (what a star!)and also The Oldham Tinkers and work by Will Noble and John Cocking etc.

So far I have really enjoyed Stanley Holloways' 'The 'ole in the Ark', 'Yorkshire Pudden','The Lion and Albert' and of course 'Uppards' and there is still lots to trawl through!

These are the kind of monologues and Northern humour that I really enjoy and hope to learn and then share for the enjoyment of others.

Barbara, thanks so much for your version of 'A Man Like Thee'. It's really good (but) it's not the version that I am familiar with (apart from the chorus of course) - I guess that the version I know is the one done by Will Noble and John Cocking or The Oldham Tinkers (or perhaps they all do the same version).

Muppett, me old mucker, where did you spring from? I very much look forward to hearing you sing 'A Man Like Me' in your own unique and inimitable style.

Good on ya folks.
