Thread Name: Robert Harrison Ms restored
Subject: Robert Harrison Ms restored
This manuscript laid down by the Rev. Robert Harrison of Temple Sowerby contains 519 tunes and provides a particularly rich picture of social music in North West England in the early 19th century. It was transcribed into abc by Simon Wilson and a great deal of research was undertaken by the late Barry Callaghan. The book, discovered by Chris Metherell, has been restored and presented to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library as a memorial to Barry Callaghan.

The money for restoration was raised by donations via the Village Music Project web site. The target was £300, any excess donations after restoration to be donated to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library.

The fund has now closed and the sum of £475 has been sent to the English Folk Dance and Song Society as a donation to the library. Thanks to all who contributed.

There are links to the manuscript index and the abc files on the Restoration page of the Village Music Project site.
