I really hope that the original Miss California was honestly dumped for not going with the program she committed to, not because of flak over that answer. Disagreeing with her is one thing (I do). But her answer was honest, and as worded was nobody's hate speech. The "sight" of people getting out their witch-burning torches over it was disturbing. And having a replay show up as a top-headline item online was a glaring symptom of the level of a lot of media "journalism".
