I spent many weeks cycling in Alaska and it had the same profound effect on me that a rainforest had on you. As a journo I came home wanting to write about it, but in the end didn't. I had become acutely conscious that anything that encourages anyone (ncluding me) to visit the place, is only going to contribute to fucking it all up.
