Your understandable reaction against religious mugwumpery -- authoritarian smugness, doctrinaire certainties, unwillingness to sustain a dialogue--is not (as I said above) a reaction aginst the general basic nature of religious thought, but against what happens to it after it falls into the hand of manipulators and advantage seekers.
