Owyeehee County, Idaho, is named for Hawai'i. There are Hawai'ians buried at the old Ft. Hall cemetery (fur trade era), and there are still those of Hawai'ian heritage living here in Eastern Idaho (the Kamoe for one instance) and yes, many of them still have family contacts in the Islands.
