I had a great time; it was all I'd hoped and more. The concerts were wonderful, the people were friendly (particularly you mudcatters that I met), and the sings at the German Club after the concerts were the best fun I've had in a while.

Nice surprises:

When faced with the news that the Thursday night concert was violating the Mystic noise ordinance against amplified music after 10 pm, Don Sineti (I'm pretty sure it was him) said "we're chantymen, we don't need amplification" and the concert went on with the loudspeakers disconnected.

Singing "Sailor's Prayer" in a circle at the end of the Friday night sing.

Running into an old friend I'd lost track of and hadn't seen in over ten years.

The nice ladies who made room for us so we didn't have to sit in the rain Saturday night.

The bones-playing battle between Tim Reilly and one of the Ancient Mariners--sorry, I'm not sure of his name--Saturday night. Brilliant.

And later that night Gibb here improvised an insane number of verses to the shanty he was leading. Gibb, you have what it takes!
