As a member of the main stage sound crew, "our" only wish on the final Sunday afternoon fling is that we had a clue who would be coming up next, with what instruments, and with what "new friends." Our highest priority is that the musicians be heard. Last minute scrambles to reposition mic stands may look amusing but it's also stressful, and sometimes despite our best efforts the musicians end up being poorly served.

And at the end of the long day, as we're packing up all the loose cables of the sound system, we really should be singing:

All coil down and it's time for us to go,
Every sailed furled in a neat harbour stow,
Another ship for us and for her another crew,
So long, sailor-man, here's good luck to you!
