Friend of mine knew him back in Toronto in the early days. I remember him telling me then that LR lived above a pool hall, and if you wanted to talk to him, you had to phone the pool hall and ask for "Slim". Never heard that from anyone else, until I just read this thread ...

Saw him in Halifax once. In the middle of his show, he did an extended "magic lantern" presentation. I almost fell asleep. Or maybe I did.
