The conventional wisdom is that mice should not be captured and released unless you're willing to take them a looooooong ways away. However, since this particular mouse seems to have been captured outdoors and brought in instead of having invaded your house looking for food, and since its experience inside the house was doubly traumatic, it probably won't come back. But, you never know. The little bugger might be off in the woods right now telling his friends "Damn! That was fun! I'm gonna do it again tonight!"
