The problem is that police would be able to do this without a warrent. They already can do any of the above if it is approved by a judge. The police themselves have little public trust in Canada, of late. The once revered RCMP have been shown to be self serving liars at the upper levels. Other forces fare little better in the public view. That is too bad because most serving members are honest and dedicated. However they seem unable to eliminate the rot in the system and have violated the public trust.
