Hmm, the site I looked at for "facts" on the Internet said it was all over the southern US. I live in Central VA, not too close to water but there is a creek a lot less than a mile away.

I guess I'm not as sure as I was!

It sure LOOKS like the pic of the crawfish snake... mostly dark brown, three stripes of yellower brown (one right on top, the others on either side of the back, the same yellowy brown on the bottom)... if it isn't the crawdad critter, what is it?

I've been debating going to Whole Foods or something to get live crayfish...
