I am saddenned by the loss of Bill. He was like many great talents, loved by many and misunderstood by some. I met Bill at PeeWee's place and he became a friend who influenced my music and taught valuable lessons about being a bandleader. My thoughts are with Mitch and his sisters, and I hope they find comfort in the memories and the music he left behind.
