A fine singer of American traditional songs, Jeff Warner
(www.jeffwarner.com) accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo & English concertina. He presents music from North Carolina to New England with warmth, humour & understated scholarship. He's also a great teacher with a deep understanding of the origins on the music & how to perform it for today's listeners.
The workshop will cover choice of instruments & styles, chords, voicings, scales, harmonies, how to accompany or be accompanied, playing with others, & performance tips. Styles & ideas used on Jeff's main instruments are transferrable to others. We won't be discussing guitar open tunings or banjo bluegrass picking.
MP3s & music will be sent ahead for sample songs. Recording devices are welcome.
