Whoops, Kendall warned me that using humourous unlikely thread titles, to illustrate why trad threads go into the dumpster so quickly these days would backfire. (see "Mudcat clique" thread)In truth, though, I have to give credit to the origins of the "Elk's Crotch" line.
Many years ago when Tony Quarrington and I were touring this fair land, we would while away the long drives by writing "comedy routines". We'd look at the map and laugh histerically at some of the "real" Canadian place names, and try to "one-up" them. After all it's hard to improve on places like "Moose Jaw Sask." or "Dildo" Newfoundland. "Balls Falls" Ontario, is right up there as well.
After a while, these phony places would start cropping up in our resumes. ie: "last year Rick participated at the annual Beaverburg Dew Worm Festival". We were silly people in those days.
