I'v been thinking about some comments made earlier, (what made the difference? Did everyone make a big effort in case this was going to be the last? I just think a better job was done by everyone, including the organizers…). I believe in someone's mind every year is the best festival ever. I'v been watching almost as long as anyone, and longer than most, I don't think anyone really tried harder this year than in the past, the exception being the fund raisers that were held up and down the east coast this winter. In the 20 plus years I'v been involved it's always been the last festival in some rumor circle somewhere. I really believe as long as people like you continue to support it, it will happen. It will continue to be a living breathing tradition though. Some thing's will change and some things will continue. Some of the change will offend some, and for some, changes won't come quick enough for their satisfaction. Another comment was made earlier to the effect that all of the "important" chanty singers have left the staff over the past decade. I'm sorry, I have to disagree. If this was your 1st festival and you enjoyed it, become more involved. If you've been around awhile, you know there's something for everyone every year.
