Thread Name: BS: Senator Al Franken
Subject: RE: BS: Senator Al Franken
Something that puzzles me: Once the Court found that Franken had been properly elected back in November, what happens with the Senator's salary he would have been entitled to had there not been the recount and lawsuits, which were found without merit? Does he get backpay, so to speak? Or does the salary only run from the time he's sworn in at the Senate in Washington and he takes his seat?

I can just hear the arguments that could be made on both sides of that, if it were merely a matter of equity. But I'm sure there's a statute or a rule of the Senate that sets it all out.

Does anybody know?
