That reminds me of the time I got up early in the morning to watch the rematch of Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston for the world heavyweight boxing championship.
I had a bet with somebody at work, that Liston would beat Clay. The bet was £15 which was a lot of dosh in those days, reducing by a £1 for each round.
Anyway, I got up, put the telly on and the match was just starting. I had put the kettle on for a cup of tea. When I came back with my tea, the match was over as Clay knocked Liston out in the first round.
So not only did I lose my sleep, but lost £15 and never saw the match live.
I never forgave Clay for that.
