The man was george Mckern.
I found him,My father has looked for him,It has taken me 2 years to find him,you are right,it is the best version I know,it was written in 1958.As far as know,it was written by sam cooke,but never published.It is brilliant.Don Williams and the like do not do it justice.I hope you all like it.
