If you're willing to travel a wee bit out of the city there are some open mikes in Rockland County and in Dutchess County that I could give you information on, let me know if you have a car because they'd be hard to get to otherwise. Also, if you're into Irish stuff, hop on the Metro-North Hudson Line train out of Grand Central to the Garrison station on the first Thursday after the full moon each month for a very friendly, open session in a tiny place right next to the train station.
