Thread Name: Risk Assessment
Subject: RE: Risk Assessment
I'll have a look through my recent work bumph for you.
There's a lot of nonsense talked about risk assessments. The main purpose of them, when putting on events, is to ensure that any possible risks to participants or viewers of the event, arising from the event itself, have been considered.
So - set out briefly what the event will consist of. Go through it, noting any hazards which you think might occur - there may well be none - and describe briefly what steps you will take to ensure that any hazards that you anticipate might happen.
You can't mitigate for every eventually so, in the main, it's common sense. If you're setting up equipment - cables, wiring, etc. - just note that they will be there, that they might constitute a hazard, and that you've taken all reasonable precautions (covers, tape, etc.) to make them safe.
