I think that's right, Bill, and I seem to recall that both in real life and in Doonesbury he took a shot at the caretaker for his property.
SOMETIMES he can write amazing stuff, sometimes he's too f**ked up on some bad crazy combination of chemicals to make sense. It adds to the suspense of reading him: You wonder, is he going to pull this out or is it going to crash and burn?
