Patrick Purves, 56, from Louth, Lincolnshire will appear at the ungodly hour of 4am on Tuesday as a Morris dancer.

A dancer for 25 years until a motorcycle accident forced him to quit, he still plays four instruments and wants to send out a message that Morris dancing is thriving.

"There have been suggestions that it is a dying tradition but it is alive and well and there are still 15,000 dancers in the UK," he said.
