Been there, done that. 3 very bloody people later, we took her to the vet, anethesized, bathed with commercial de-greaser, then animal coat conditioner. Did not have to shave her down. Was MUCH easier to bathe a comatose cat than a fighting one. Nothing quite so pitiful as a wet, comatose cat...........she lived to be soooooo furious. I swear she remembered it all.
