I have a theory that this thread is in fact the creation of an evil scientist who wants to take over the world and send it back in time.

Actually, I've never really wanted to go back in time - ever. I have absolutely no desire, ever, to relive the past or live in the past. And, of course, I couldn't be an Old Git without having the Past to compare the Modern with - and grumble about the Modern. Let's face it - Old Gits have to have a reason to harrumph fairly regularly, and "things just aren't what they were" is as good a reason as any.

And after that epistemological concatenation of paradoxical paraphernalia, well... I'll have a single Grouse with Canada Dry, if you don't mind - with ice.
