Thread Name: Lyr Req: Give Me Your Hand / Tabhair Dom Do Lámh
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Give Me Your Hand / Tabhair Dom Do Lá
Hi all,

This is a *very* late addition, I know. It's mostly nit-picking but after reading through everyone's posts, I noticed that noone has mentioned that "is" in the first line is actually in Irish too!

Instead of the English part of the line being:
"Will you give me your hand is"
It should be:
"Will you give me your hand"

Then the Irish part becomes:
"Is tabhair dom do lámh"

"Is" is pronounced like the 'iss' in 'hiss'

This changes the meaning of the Irish part from "Give me your hand" to "Will you give me your hand" and therefore it matches the English part exactly.

Enjoy!
