Yes, Marrinan's was constantly packed - which meant that most of the singing was roared out regardless - interspersed with even more raucous "recitations". I still managed to get in two or three songs a day by regular checking to see when Marrinan's Rule applied:

If you stand at the wall just inside the door of Marrinan's and you can't see the opposite wall - it's too crowded to be worth singing!
