Good thread. I play guitar and mandolin and mess about with banjo (tenor and 5-string), octave mandolin and on occasion banjo-uke, achieving actual mediocrity on guitar and mandolin. I also repair all of the above and have built a couple of mandolins. I have played in several bands over the years (including country -rock) and of course am currently part of Woodchucks' Revenge. I have a pretty wide range of personal repertoire, blues, old country, traditional folk, contemporary folk, etc. I OD quickly on bluegrass for some reason, and avoid whiny singer-songwriter stuff like the plague. My roots are 50's country and 60's folk, and I do not do music from choice....I am a hard-core addict.
