I checked for "vegetarian" in the search and found no threads here.

For the record I'm not actually fully Vegetarian, but I used to be and I'm dabbling with going fully Veggie again. Well I'm going to give it a month and see if I *really* miss that tuna sarni or (free-range) chicken curry and whether I think it'd be worth going full-time Veggie again. This is a thread drift already, because all that waffle was just a prelude to the purpose of the thread. I thought it might be worth having a thread like this, as a place for Vegetarian members to exchange thoughts, ideas, recipes, places to eat and stuff about Vegetarian and/or Vegan lifestyles, ethics and so-on.

BTW. For anyone interested Morrisons (UK supermarket) currently have fresh Tofu an exciting *half price* at about 54p a block. So I'm going to buy some to freeze. It does tend to make the texture a bit chewy, but not too bad..

Though loads of Veggies seem to hate the stuff, I LOVE it stir fried with oriental flavourings. The smoked stuff is amazing. I like it best of all, with satay sauce.

Anyway, having discovered that Aduki beans are supposed to help me magically lose my lard, I'm going to try making a Red Dragon Pie next week, from Manchester's thoroughly fabulous 8th Day Cafe. Any veggies in Manchester's arty Northern Quarter, need to look it up.

Please Mods don't link this to the recipe threads?? As I created it to be a space for chatter and exchange, if any Veggies are at all interested of course... :-)

Oh yeah, something I recently found in the Co-Op might be of interest. Their own brand mayonnaise (very good) is made with free-range eggs. Good old Co-Op.
