The first singer you mention was Cathal McConnell, longtime member of The Boys of the Lough. I particularly enjoyed Edward, the Boast of Athlone which is not often heard. Cathal is quite a character. He usually carries flutes and whistles in a rather business-like briefcase producing a disturbing resemblance to Groucho Marx playing Doctor Hackensacker!
