This song is very definitely Fred's. The version listed as being Jasper Carrot's is in fact pretty much the version that Fred sang at The Bristol Troubadour in the late 1960s,early 1970s when I was a regular there. There was also a very nice parody of Al Stewart's Swiss Cottage Manouevers, which I think was either by Dave Hunt or John Turner or possibly by a chap whose name I can't remember but who went by the soubriquet of Heavy Drummer. Where Al's lyrics included "I could see myself nailed to a dormitory tale", this version went "I could see myself scrawled on a lavatory wall."
