I have tried various PDF creators in the past and the best ones I have found are PDFCreator and Gostscript/GSView. The latter needs a two stage process. You have to print to a Postscript file first whereas PDFCreator does it all in one step. I see from the Wikipedia link above that PDFCreator uses Ghostscript.

Use a Mac

Try Linux instead! You can install it on your existing computer, so you don't need to incur the cost of buying a new, (overpriced IMO) computer. You also don't need to commit yourself if you are not sure as you can install Linux as a dual boot system.
