I don't see how this decision does anything to enhance my rights - any traffic cop can still pull me over and give me a hard time if he feels like it, and for no other reason. I have the same recourses I always have had: I can lodge an official complaint, proffer charges against him, sue him, etc. The only difference is that now if I have a couple of pounds of cocaine sitting on the passenger seat, I have a better chance of beating the rap if he bothers to charge me.
