It would be good to help people but by making the thread about one person rather than a fund for deserving cases it does single them out. Most folk in a situation where they were in hardship probably wouldn't put themselves forward but I think any fund should be for unnamed cases and an impartial group decide who it should be given to. If you choose to help one specific person that should be done privately.
