He also had a normal voice. In singing cowboy movies, when he's Autry's sidekick, he mostly uses the frog for the ends of phrases (and punchlines) and I never thought about how tricky it would be to switch between normal/frog until last night.

It's probably a made-up name for the sound, ZM. It sounds to me like if bullfrogs would sing cowboy songs in the same voice they say "brawp" around the pond.

When Clarence Henry sings "Ain't got no home" he frogs and does a little-girl falsetto..but the voices are in different verses. He has space between normal and frog.

It doesn't really matter a whole lot, I just thought maybe somebody here would know whether Smiley Burnett's songs were one take or two.
