Thread Name: BS: Folk Against Facism - Part II
Subject: RE: BS: Folk Against Facism - Part II
As EmmaB stated on the thread thread, BS: So why has the BNP gained votes? ..."the title [of the Folk Against Facism] thread did indicate that it was the appropiate place to look for (or post) information about any forth coming concerts, events etc especially for those people not on Facebook or myspace."

While I recognize that Mudcat is not a democracy, as a member of Mudcat and as a member of Folk Against Facism, I feel it is important to state my support for a thread which has as its focus the FaF organization and not other (albeit)related topics.

As to what that means, I'll take the liberty of quoting this post from the first RE: Folk Against Fascism thread:

Subject: RE: Folk Against Fascism
From: Ruth Archer - PM

...[Folk Against Facism] is a specific response to a specific set of circumstances - the attempted appropriation of British folk music and culture by the far right. It is an effort to raise awareness of what the BNP is doing to try and appropriate British folk music and culture, and an opportunity for musicians to respond collectively to the appropriation of their music by the far right.

Given the differences in focus between this thread and the Anti BNP Protest, Codnor, 15 August thread as well as the above linked BS: So why has the BNP gained votes? thread, I sincerely hope that Joe Offer and the other Mudcat moderators will either reopen the first Folk Against Facism thread, or keep this Folk Against Facism - Part II
thread open.
