I think that you have hit on a real issue. I have been thinking about this for some time. I was on a well-known dating site for a while and one of about 4 people in the country that had folk music as an interest.

I think a singles area at folk festivals would be good. A corner of a bar, tent what ever where single people could socialise. Dance tents are good, but most women there are married (to husbands who don't like dancing).

I will be at Shrewsbury Folk Festival in August - any other singles going perhaps we could set up an informal meeting point.
