hello all,have just returned home,wed 29 july 00 14.

I had a lovely gig at Coatham Mundeville.
Ross, the play went well,Old Scarth excelled himself despite his gout, and despite having his straw hat snatched off his head,by the b#### director, who claimed it wasnt period, surely victorian shipping agents had straw hats?.
Seriously, the music was good, and the children did well, particularly the dancing, perhaps the director should have worked harder on their voice projection, but it was a good effort.
it was a pleasure to meet all the other mudcatters, thanks to Barry Finn for his help with the hen party.
the spot I enjoyed playing most was on the main stage, and my spots in the leeds arms, which also went well.
sorry,I did not enjoy the Lancaster[awful acoustics, among other things]
I really enjoyed Finn and Haddies spot in the Sea Cadets Hall[what wonderful acoustics],and everyone else I got time to see.
overall a good festival.Dick Miles
