From my perspective, I don't blame any country for being worried about any person rummaging around in their computers. McKinnon may have had no ulterior purpose in mind - although at the very least he was searching closets that didn't belong to him - but the victimized country cannot be sure of that without investigation.

By the way, he does say that the UK's governmental security is "very, very, very good."
