I'm not racing to do much of anything,... least of all for the aquisition of an incredibly expensive book! I think Hovey is fine for now, and besides, if the origional tune is there, then I'm content enough. I don't mind creating 'arrangements' around traditional tunes, I love to do it and have to hold myself back.

Did you know that Hovey was unable to move his fingers to write the score? He communicated with his son via "computer, a home made letter board, teeth clicks, eye blinks, and mysterious ways known only to father and son". I find the process remarkable!
