Subject: Folklore: Joe & Eddie Revisited
Greetings Folks. Let me start my acknowledging the Folks on XM-15 The Village (XM Radio good folk station) They exposed or re-exposed me to this wonderful duo. Joe & Eddie were an African American duo with the incredible harmony and counterpoint. They used very sparse musicianship. To me they had an incredible ability to reinvent songs, most notably Daddy Roll-On which came to me by way of Roger McGuinn who heard it from Bob Gibson but their interpretation of Phil Ochs' Thats the way its gonna be" and "Theres a meeting here tonight" (heard on that bomb Hootenanny Hoot) are worth revisiting .
Does anyone here have any first hand experiences with this duo. they have been forgotten and they should be remembered
To me, I realize where Sam & Dave got their sound from.
